Dr. Dayle Davenport is a renowned physician, academic leader, and educator dedicated to advancing health equity. She serves as the Associate Dean for Health Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at the Pritzker School of Medicine and is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Section of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Davenport completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania, earned her medical degree from Harvard University, and completed her residency in emergency medicine at the University of Chicago. She is also the course director for Health Equity, Advocacy, and OutReach (HEAR) course, which engages community partners and promotes civil discourse to equip students with a framework and critical lens to explore diverse perspectives and address health disparities.

Dr Davenport is widely recognized for her contributions to the field of medicine and has been received numerous awards for her leadership, mentorship, and advocacy. Her academic research examines structural inequities across the physician pipeline, including disparities in standardized letters of evaluation, authorship representation, and student narrative assessments.

Dr. Davenport’s recent publications appear in Academic Medicine, Academic Emergency Medicine, AEM Education and Training, Journal for Graduate Medical Education, and the Western Journal of Emergency Medicine. Through this body of work, she has helped shape the evolving conversation on equity in medical training and leadership, with a focus on actionable strategies to create more inclusive learning and working environments.
